How Video Games Make The Ultimate Paid Media Marketer
Remember when your parents told you video games aren’t “good for you” as you were growing up? What if I told you that playing video games can actually lead you to a high demand skill? Well the truth is it probably wouldn’t and your parents are probably right but here’s were gaming came into play in my life in connection to my career.
1. Allowed me to tap into my problem-solving skills with data to create a story to present to the client that understands account performance, optimizations, and next steps.
2. An attention to detail - when you are knee deep in excel those numbers, vlookups, and pivots can start to get confusing. Being able to have an attention to detail when it comes to reporting, proper formulas, and optimizations can be crucial to an account.
3. Quicker decision-making - when you are playing a game that puts time pressure on the player you have to think quick, this translates on an account. Depending on how many accounts you are working on and how big those budgets are you only have a certain amount of time every day, you have to make those decisions count!
4. Creative ability - when you see how certain games are designed it can translate into how you might brainstorm on your creatives and explore different versions of ads that might allow you to create something that resonates with your audience!
5. Competitors - whenever your playing super smash bros the goal is to win but there are multiple factors to this, the key is to understand your characters abilities and your competitions ability and strategize how you engage you don’t want to be too aggressive or too passive you have to find a balance, from there you got a higher chance of winning.
6. Faster hand-to-eye coordination this one is underrated but 100% not undervalued. The more familiar you are with your keyboard and computer programs. The quicker you work on getting assignments done.
